Introduction
Sports Guardian is a personal safety and medical ID solution for people who lead active lives. At the heart of the product is a customisable wristband engraved with a unique QR code, linking to a secure online profile containing vital medical and emergency contact information, so first responders and event staff can access critical health data within seconds.
The Challenge
Sports Guardian needed to modernise their platform and improve the experience for both individuals and staff. Their existing system lacked the flexibility and performance users expect, particularly on mobile. The solution needed to work seamlessly across devices, handle sensitive data securely, offer an intuitive interface for profile management, and scale with a growing user base.
What I Did
I designed a Progressive Web App (PWA) to replace the existing platform, taking a mobile-first approach throughout given how and where the product is used. I produced low-fidelity wireframes and iterated through to high-fidelity prototypes, mapping the full user flow from wristband activation through to emergency responder access. Visual design was aligned with the Sports Guardian brand, with a focus on readability, accessibility, and ease of navigation, ensuring the interface worked clearly under pressure, not just in ideal conditions.
